The open space office in a renovated factory loft in Friedrichshain is equipped with a working area, meeting and retreat areas and a large social area. Our team led the execution of the planning in Scandinavian design language. Electrically height-adjustable workbenches in groups of 6 offer flexible workstations and grouping in different teams. Cloakrooms, lockers and other storage spaces are available to employees in the desk-sharing office for personal items and work materials. Several meeting rooms, telephone booths and meeting pods provide retreats for meetings and calls.
Between the groups of 6 there is also an area separated by a permeable curtain with a round high table for short, informal meetings. Adjacent to the working area is a lounge area for meetings in a cosy atmosphere. It is separated from the flexible workspaces by an acoustic curtain. What is special about the office are the specially made individual furnishings, such as the reception counter and the custom carpentry solutions in the hallway area with window benches that also function as radiator covers.
The social area is about exchange and relaxation, and appreciation of the employees. The beautiful shapes, calm colours and high-quality materials such as wood contribute to the feel good atmosphere. The same applies to the pendant lights above the tables, which provide cosy lighting and at the same time function as elegant design elements. The social area consists of several spaces: a kitchen area with a standing counter that is separated from the lounge area by an airy, modular shelving system that brings the spirit of a living room into the office; and on the other side, a spacious lounge area with coffee tables for nice conversations in a relaxed atmosphere.
This is followed by a long wooden table and a bench with small tables for leisurely lunch breaks and co-working. There are also custom-made furnishings in the social area: a long bench with integrated plants, a kitchen counter with storage space and, as a special highlight, a news wall. The custom-manufactured frame construction with wooden compartments stretches along the side wall, and there is a place where employees can pin team information to the integrated news board. Everything in the social area, the heart of the office, is geared towards team building, connecting and relaxing.
